I just made the changes required by Google Apps to get my email off of Postini, and I can not receive email from hotmail:
Arrival-Date: Tue, 19 Jun 2012 15:12:13 -0700
Diagnostic-Code: smtp;550-(snt0-omc4-s14.snt0.hotmail.com) [126.96.36.199]:24085 is currently not
550 permitted to relay through this server.
A lot of other people have been having the same problem for at least 3 years now:
This has been a known problem since 2009. Basically, Hotmail tries to send the message based on the A record (website), not the MX records (mail server), so if you don’t have those at the same IP address, the mail won’t go to the right place. For some reason the problem has been reported predominantly with Google Apps and sometimes Gmail accounts.
Of course, as everyone who has tried to get support from Microsoft or Google, you ain’t getting it, puny human. Their forums are sometimes a place where we idiots may work out the problems for ourselves. Anyway, I’m hoping another user who is smarter than I will provide an answer. Here’s to hoping.
